At The Building Beautiful Black Girls Project, everything we do is driven by a bold dream and a steadfast commitment to the power and potential of girls and young women.

Our Commitment

We create safe and nurturing spaces where girls and young women (ages 13-17) can engage, learn, and develop the tools they need to build a strong sense of self-worth and self-advocacy while embracing their unique identities. We equip them with the tools to recognize and avoid unhealthy relationships and cycles of abuse.

Our Dream

The Building Beautiful Black Girls Project is dedicated to empowering girls and young women by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to overcome the systemic disparities that have historically limited access to resources. While we focus on the unique challenges Black girls face—particularly around intimate partner violence and domestic violence—we understand that these issues affect individuals across all communities. Our sessions and resources are open to all girls, regardless of background, and we invite everyone to join us in creating a supportive, transformative space for growth, resilience, and healthy relationships. The BBBG Project goes beyond addressing the impacts of IPV and DV—it’s about empowering girls to rise above challenges, embrace their worth, and build the futures they deserve. We focus on shifting any narratives of victimhood into stories of resilience, strength, and self-advocacy, providing the resources and support needed to help every girl build and maintain healthy relationships and shine.

We envision a world where girls and young women (ages 13-17) walk confidently in their self-worth, equipped with the knowledge and tools to build and maintain healthy relationships—ultimately safeguarding them from intimate partner violence and fostering stronger families and healthier communities.
